How to look at Abstract Art: Gerhard Richter – Abstract Paintings

It is actually quite surprising: For the first time ever Cologne star-artist  Gerhard Richter has a show devoted only to his abstract art! This is a brilliant chance to view the Germany´s top artists´ strongest paintings of the last 20 years. We´ll take this subject as a chance to ask and answer questions about non-objective or abstract art. How can you visually approach such art? How can you appreciate these visual elements like pure color, geometry or pattern – especially when there is no recognizable image? Is it nonsense or pure sensation??
