Come discover Pop Art! Did you know that Museum Ludwig owns the largest and one of the best collections of Pop Art outside of the USA? One of Pop’s pioneering artists, Roy Lichtenstein, has a fantastic exhibition now on in Museum Ludwig. Roy Lichtenstein transforms comic-book images into elegant large scale paintings and shows how images of popular culture can be playfully used to make seriously beautiful art. We’ll explore prime examples of wild and crazy examples from Pop Art greats found in the permanent collection. What makes Pop Art still so popular? What does it tell us about the consumer world of convenience the 1960’s and today?
