Museum Ludwig January 2016

On the 7th Jan, we joined Karla for an ArtTalk on Joan Mitchell. She is an American Abstract Expressionist artist showing for the first time at the Ludwig Museum—neither of which I know a lot about. Karla not only gave us an insight into Joan Mitchell’s extraordinary life from her early work right through to her final pieces. She also explained how to view Abstract art; formal things like brush strokes, the rhythm, colours, to better understand the feeling of the work.
Karla is a talented art historian and facilitator who has a way of engaging an audience, getting you to express your thoughts and reactions to the art work.

A very enjoyable way to spend a morning and also learn something about art. I will definitely be at the next Arttalk.
