Museums in Cologne are Open but not for Groups

Dear ArtTalkers,

Museum Ludwig and other Cologne Museums are now open. There are unfortunately still no tours allowed and that means I can’t offer any ArtTalks – yet⚡

Maybe you and your friends can still grab a spot to visit the current Andy Warhol exhibition? It was extended to June 14th and, who knows, maybe it will be extended again.

Here is the link to try to book a 2-hour time slot in Museum Ludwig.

I visited the Andy show and was surprised by his early paintings. There are also some fine drawings of nudes done with a Matisse-like bravado (beware of the many penis portraits 😉), outstanding photographs and a cool multi-media room with music by the Velvet Underground.

If you dig American society and culture of the 1960s and 1970s, this show might be for you. In the large AC/DC space, the curators have set up a rondel with TVs and many celebrity interviews that you can sit down and watch. There are also many large-scale works not previously shown in Europe.

Would you still like to discover art, artists´ stories and be inspired by art and ArtTalks? I miss the joy that discovering beautiful visual and conceptual ideas gives me and I miss talking about this with you all, my dear ArtTalkers 😍

I’m hoping to be able to offer ArtTalks again in September. Keep your fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Until then stay healthy and enjoy the summer☀

Artful wishes,
Karla
