Yayoi Kusama exhibition view
_}Museum Ludwig celebrates its 50th anniversary with a major blockbuster Kusama retrospective. Many works have never been shown before in Europe 🎉🤩
Yayoi Kusama was part of the American Pop Art circle around Andy Warhol. She returned to Japan disappointed in the US reception of her art and developed her own unmistakable polka-dot ecstatic vision.
Her work addresses pain, emotions, love, and war—all filtered through her philosophy that everything is in never-ending renewal.
We’ll explore her Infinity Net paintings, mirror rooms, and new works that “wow” created exclusively for this exhibition. Kusama is over 95 years old and still going strong!
This is the first long, free-entry Cologne Thursday since the opening, so expect blockbuster atmosphere and lots of enthralling polka-dot energy⚡
- 💡 Long Cologne Thursday opening, free for Cologne citizens. Limit of 10 ArtTalkers.
- 💰 Fee: €28 adults | €8 students, artists, and kids
- 📍 Meeting Point: Central foyer, by the column with the BLUE dot.
